Unfortunately for us, after walking up and down hills and mountain trails for a few hours, my knee started hurting. Which is unusual for me... I haven't injured it, and it hasn't hurt before. I guess it is just from getting old. It made the rest of our walk through the park a little slower and/or a little more motivated to get done. But, there were still lots of pictures to take.... And share!
Check out this cool tree root system!
Because New England is known for their covered bridges, they are all over the place. Like this one, in the middle of the park!
The architecture was pretty cool.
From the bridge, looking down the river.
A little further down the trail, looking back up to the bridge. It looks so small!
By this point, I needed a place to sit and rest for a bit.
A nice view of the gorge in the middle of the park.
On our way out :(
We left Flume Gorge after a good day of walking and taking beautiful pictures. We had to drive to our next destination though. You see, seeing the moose in the visitors center was enough to spark a new idea... Since we didn't get to go in the hot air balloon, we moved things around so we could go on a Moose Safari! That meant changing hotel room and plans a bit, but we were able to make it work. That night, we stopped for dinner at Pizza Degree. It was pretty dang good!
