We are back

So, it took several days in the car, a bit of car trouble, and some interesting stops, but we are back in Alabama. Now we are gonna start looking for a house and stuff. Props to the Bradfords for putting us up :)

I will probably be out of it for a while yet, but I will be back someday :) I will update with what I can when I can. Thanks for the well wishes!!! Talk to you later!

PS- went to watch Dark Knight today. It was a very good movie. I wondered if Heath Ledger was just getting all the talk because he was dead, but he was very good. I would recommend it!

Getting Ready

I spent several hours yesterday doing laundry, packing, cleaning, throwing away, etc. I got my oil changed and I hope today to vacuum out the car, and then install the car seats (Kaitlyn can turn around now!!!). Then, if I have my way we will leave at 0 dark thirty in the morning tomorrow for Utah. We will be there for about a whole day, and then onto Alabamy.

In other news, Justin is probably in the air right now on his way back over. He lands tonight and will be there waiting for us. So, we will be out of commission for a while probably. We don't have a home to go back to, and the computer is on the fritz and needs to be repaired, so...

Um, all I can say is wish me luck! Grandma is coming with me again to help out with the little ones and I am going to drop her off at the airport on my way through. She is such a good grandma. Then, Graduation, job, house hunting, moving... You know. All the normal stuff. :)

Ballerina

Grandma made some cute little ballerina skirts for the girls. Just some pretty netting fabric with some elastic for a waistband. But, pretty cute none the less. Wocha think? :)

Last one for today

Goodness... I feel like I have been loading pictures on all day... Wait, I have!!! Oh well. This is the last one for today with a few odd ones that don't fit anywhere else. Enjoy what you can and make sure you keep going... I don't really know how many I did today.

This is Kaitlyn and my dad at a rest stop on the way from Utah to California. We all needed a bit of time to walk :)

This is us in our Sunday best. Yes, me still with straight hair!

Kaitlyn and her hollywoods. Cute kid.

On a side note, I told Kari to play by herself for a while today. Grandpa had read her several books, I had read her several books, Grandma had read her several books. It was time for her to play by herself for a little while (darn the fact that she doesn't nap anymore. She still brought up several books to me and said, Mommy, read to me... I looked at the books, saw that she had read them all already, and told her to read them by herself. On of the books is No Tooth, No Quarter which she likes for some reason. (For some reason because it is a bit above her reading level) She said, "But mom... I don't know the Walter book." She is such a silly. Well, that is it for today. Enjoy!

Grandpa's Work

So, Grandpa works at a nut farm :) Yeah, he is a nut:) He took us on a tour of the factory and land. It was fun. Here are some pictures.

You have to wear hairnets in one part of the factory.

Cutest little hairnet you ever did see :)

I am sure you have all heard that they graft trees to get the desired outcomes. Well, the fruit they want doesn't have a strong root base, so they graft the fruit tree onto a root base. I always assumed that they graft together somehow so you hardly notice. Well, as you can see, that isn't the case. These are walnut trees.

An Evening at the Park

The night before we left Utah, we got pizza and had a picnic in the park. It is nice enough in Utah that there were no bugs, and the temperature (minus the humidity) was quite pleasant. Here are some pictures from our excursion.

Hanging out on the blanket.

DOG PILE!!!

Cute Kaitlyn. She goes where she wants, and walks all over the place. I am in real trouble now ;)

A cuddle from the Uncle.

On the playground.

Kari fell and hurt her back. She milked it for all it was worth :)

Kaitlyn's first go at a slide. She loved it :)

Happy Birthday to You

Yes, Kaitlyn turned one while I was gone. It made me sad to miss it, but I don't think she noticed. The day after I got back, we had just a little party with my family. She didn't know what to do with the cupcake. So, I helped her by putting her hand right in it. She didn't like that much, and screamed bloody murder. :) Nothing would help her, so, I ended up putting her in the bath, without her eating so much as a crumb from her cake. Oh well, better luck next time.

Happy 4th of July

Nothing says July 4th like bathing suits and flags, right?!? :)

Pool

We finally went to the pool while we were out here too. It was Kaitlyn's first time, and all in all she did pretty well. It only took her a minute or two to get used to the water. Kari hung out mostly by the stairs and jumped between the big pool and the kiddie pool. Grandpa came in too to help corral the girls. More pictures :)

Kari and Kaitlyn in their suits getting ready to go.

Kari Jumping and splashing

Kaitlyn's first time in the pool... Still getting used to the water.

Just hanging out in the Turtle :)

In the water with mom.

Towards the end she got tired and cuddled with me. I know, it was GREAT!!!

Laura took Kari swimming with her neice and nephew on Dan's side. This is a picture of Kari with them.

Kaitlyn and her hollywoods :)

All Done in the pool.

Afterwords, at home. This is Kari and the diaper bag.

Kaitlyn was whining, and we were debating on whether or not to feed her and put her to bed, or just to put her to bed. She walked over to the diaper bag, and inserted the pacifier into her mouth without bothering to detach it from the bag itself. Needless to say, we just put her down for a nap.
