I'm Beat!

Its this:
So we did this.

Actually, more like this.

Ok.  Lets be super accurate.  It was more like this.

And now I feel like this.
And a bit sad because of this.
 But mostly, like this.
I'll be back in a day or two.  When I don't feel so much like this.

Toothless Joe, er, I mean, Dylan

Recently, Dylan has lost his two front teeth.  This is his last before with baby teeth.
The first tooth was super loose.  Loose enough I asked him if daddy could pull it.
I'm pretty good at volunteering hubby for things like that.
He looks like it is super painful, but I'm telling you...  That thing was super loose.
And there he is!  One tooth less :)
Super happy.  Less blood.  There you go La.
Then, a few days later, we were at the pediatrician.  Waiting in the waiting room.  And bored.  And I noticed that his other front tooth was a total snaggle tooth.
So I told him to pull it.  And, surprisingly to me, he did so pretty willingly.
And I just so happened to get it on camera.  I love his cute chin quiver at the end.  Like, he is happy, but he was emotionally overcome.
s
So now he doesn't have any front teeth.  And he talks a little funny.  And it is pretty great.
But I suspect by Christmas, they will be back ;)

Pants Petting Zoo: Kittens

I mentioned Mandypants has a bit heart for animals.  Well, before she had given all the puppies away, she discovered 2 kittens that needed a home.
And, so....  why not add to the petting zoo? :)
She was nice enough to stop by our house the morning she picked up the kittens, so she could introduce them to all the kids.
Two black kittens.  One boy.  One girl.  She named them Salem and Sabrina.
Everyone had the chance to hold a kitten.
And Salem likes to purr.  He sounds like a machine :)
Note the scratches on Dylan's face from laying down with the puppies.  Kid never learns.
I think they like them.  I like kittens too.  But I'm not currently interested in owning one.  I'll just go to the petting zoo when I need a fix :)
Salem found a comfy spot, closed his eyes, and purred himself to sleep.
This is from a few weeks later.  Dylan seems to have a pretty cute bond with the kittens.  He likes to hold both of them at the same time.  And most of the time, they cooperate nicely.
So, I guess we'll strike a deal.  For now, I'll have the kids, and she can have all the animals.  Lets just hope she doesn't start to charge entrance.

Pants Petting Zoo: Puppies

Our friend Mandypants has a soft heart where animals are involved.  One day a few weeks ago, she came across a female stray who had obviously just had puppies.  Mandypants gained the dogs trust, and fed the poor skinny dog, who then lead her to her puppies.  All 10 of them!
At the time she took them in, they were about 1 week old.
And, of course, my children wanted to hold the puppies.
And I, of course, took pictures.
These are from a few weeks later.
All the puppies eyes were open (Except when they sleep of course).
And they were starting to be playful and inquisitive.
While Pant's heart is big, her house isn't, and she had no desire to house 10 new puppies (including the 3 dogs she already owns).  So she started looking for homes.
But we made sure to help domesticate and break in the puppies as best as we could.
We wouldn't want them to not know what to do with a human!
(Hello Beaver Face!)
Thats better!
Hubby even got in on the playing.
He likes a playful puppy.
The kids knew we wouldn't be adopting any of the puppies.  I am currently not interesting in getting a dog that sheds, and none of the children (including hubby) would commit to sweeping/vacuuming hair daily, so...  Thats a no go.  But, we played and cuddled a lot.  And, the kids didn't even ask to have one.  Until the end.  When 8 of the 10 puppies had homes.  The two older girls got attached to one of the puppies they named Lazy.  She had the green collar (to help identify which puppy was which).  They named her Lazy because she wasn't particularly playful, but she liked to cuddle a lot.
And on the day that Lazy was going to be picked up, Kari wanted to say goodbye.  She Mandypants took the two older girls to hang at her house for the day and to play with "their"puppy before she went to her home.
Kari admitted that she had hoped that if no one else had adopted the puppy, we would "end up" with her.  Silly girl :)

Selfies: What have I done?

I told you that a majority of the pictures taken with and about the playset were taken by people other than myself: mostly my children specifically.
That resulted in some wonderful yet weird pictures.
Many gratuitous smiles.
And a few selfies.  I think it is funny because my camera is not exactly small!  Observe:  Kaitlyn taking selfies (taken with my not super great cell phone camera).
And these were the results.
There are also several pictures of Kelsey doing this weird hand sign.  I was unaware she was affiliated with a gang, but you learn something new everyday.
Don't be grumpy Kelsey.  I was just kidding.
Thats better!
See?  There is that weird gang sign again!
They even got one of me.
It was a few days of fun for the kids and decently simple, but no less time consuming, work for the adults.
Not gonna lie.  No idea what is going on here.
Its like she is in prison or something.
So....  I like to take pictures.  And my children are the most natural thing for me to capture.
And I may, or may not be contributing to the selfie generation....
