International Man of Mystery...

A few pictures of Justin. The orange suit is from when he went caving. And the one with the hat is is man of mystery. He's pretty cute, if I do say so myself. :)

I have less than a week until I embark on my trip, and I hope it turns out alright. I don't look forward to leaving the girls, but the money is already spent, so I might as well enjoy the trip. Otherwise, it would just be a very expensive sulk :) I think they will be ok with my mom and sisters who they know pretty well by now. And I plan on calling at least once a day by video phone so they can still see us.

Last night we threw a baby shower for my little sister. She is having a baby girl in October, so I know it is a bit early, but, I wanted to do it while I was in town. It was a smash and we had lots of fun with the presents and cheesecake bar :) Thanks to Grandma, Grandma Jeanne and Joan for all the help! And Congrats to Thompson on being a mom :)

Tricycles

Kari comes into me today and says "I want a tricycle." I say "Ok, where should I get one from?" And she says, "Grandpa just ate one. He said I could have one." (In other words, ask him...) Wait, Grandpa just ate a tricycle?!? She means popsicle... but somehow in her little head the words got confused. Cute kid :)

In Utah, again

So, we are dropping off my little brother here in Utah to go to BYU. We will be here for a while. I am going to leave my mom here with the girls and my sisters so they can help out while I go on my cruise to EUROPE in less than 10 days! I am so excited!!! We drove all day yesterday, and the girls were wonderful (as always). However, we have been keeping them up way too late at night, so that will have to be remidied shortly... we are starting to see the effects :) Not much new to report. The End.

Happy Fathers Day

I love my dad. It is wonderful that he gave me life and brought me into the world. And, I can't help but love my dad in law for giving me my husband. I also love the father of my children (although he is away) who I know loves them and misses them dearly. This is what Kari did for Justin in Primary at church today. Cute, huh?

Hair cut

I know I know... Some of you won't like me for this post. But, I got Kari's hair cut. She is so hot natured, and she rubs her head on her pillow, it takes so long in the shower, and, well, thought it would be easier if it were shorter. Plus... I thought she would look dang cute with short hair. We cut off 6 inches at the longest point. It is now about even all the way around. It is still long enough to put into a ponytail though. Enjoy :)

Fountain Fun

Last night we went to the plaza to watch a free concert. When we got there, the music was cancelled, but there was a huge fountain in the middle squirting water everywhere. Kari had a blast, and Kaitlyn enjoyed walking around... Here are some pictures :)

Plum picking with Grandma

Grandma has a plum tree right outside her front door in her front yard. Kari "helped" her to pick them. Isn't she cute :)

Justin's News

Here are some pictures Justin sent to me... Notice the camel :) Sorry, they are kinda weird looking pictures... I didn't get all of them through so I cropped and used what I could :)

Clap on {clap clap}

For those of you who haven't had the fun of being around Kaitlyn, she is a squeaker. She would squeal in between every bite of food if I didn't shovel fast enough. So, in an effort to curb the horrible screaming :) I have been teaching her a bit of signlanguage. We started with "more". More is signed by putting all of he tips of your fingers of one hand together with all the tips of the fingers of the other hand. It is like clapping, but with the tips of your fingers. Kaitlyn has interpreted this as just clapping. Thats ok, I know what she means. Anytime she wants anything, she claps.

Now onto another story. Today we got to talk to Justin on skype with a video camera. Kaitlyn woke up in the middle of it, and she "talked" and shouted at him too. However, in the middle of our conversation, we got cut off. The video feed vanished from the computer screen. Kaitlyn promptly started clapping...:) Maybe she will remember her daddy when he comes back :) I know she still love him and recognizes his voice. I put him on speaker phone the other day and she leaned forward and licked the phone. Isn't she sweet to kiss him :) She loves him!

Kari's Camera

We found a camera for $.50 at the craft store. Kari thinks it is so cool because it has a button to push that makes noise. She was talking to Nana on the phone saying "See my camera? See the penguins?" as she showed them to the phone. She is so cute :)

Absence makes the....

I can come up with any number of things to finish this phrase. Amoung my favorites are:

-Spouse spend lots of money
-Spouse buy expensive travel tickets
-Spouse want to buy new lingerie
-Spouse lonley
-Spouse move in with the parents

Um, lets see... Check check check check and check :)

I am so excited to go and see Justin. I think it will be one of the best experiences of my life. How often will I get this chance? When I am young enough to enjoy it, when I will have a babysitter who can handle the kids, when I am healthy and able to do the tracking around, when I can afford it (well, sorta...)? You know, I just have to take advantage of the opportunity. So, I will be flying into Barcelona, Spain to spend some time there. Then, Justin and I leave on a cruise that will take us to France and Italy.

We got a balcony room so we can spend evenings outside on our balcony by the Meditteanean sea.

And then, I will fly home and leave him to finish his trip without us.

So, that is my story and I am sticking to it. The End. (For you Stacy)

Kaitlyn

... has developed quite the personality. She is showing it more and more. At the moment, she is working on a cute new scrunchie face...

This is where she hits her mouth while she makes a noise... You know what I am taking about, right?

Here she is blowing raspberries :)

And this is her "Yes, may I help you face?"

Grandpa's Motorcycle

I got to take a ride with Grandpa he other day. We went to pick up the van which they had taken to the shop. It was a gorgeous day!!! The ride was great! I forget how nice it is to ride for a few minutes (I am not much for butt numbers) when it is wonderful outside... No humidity or not too hot. Oh yeah, and the babysitter was nice too. We didn't get any pictures with me on it, but Kari wanted a ride too... So, here are some for her.

Putting on the helmet

Winking as she left :)

There they go!

Wonderful little smile

And, we thought maybe we could get a picture with Kaitlyn to give it a try too... But, as you can see, she wasn't too pleased. She had just woken up and I guess she didn't recognize grandpa with helmet and sunglasses. Once he took them off, she went right to him.

Grandpa's Birthday Inferno

So, we made a birthday cake for Grandpa. If you know my mother, you know that she saves everything. So, she had plenty of candles for Grandpa's cake. Little did we know, however, that several of the candles were the kind that automatically re-light themselves after you have blown them out. So, everyone gave them a try blowing them out. Here's to Grandma saving things and a happy birthday again to Grandpa.

Take a deep breath Grandpa!!!

Blow!!!

Here they are relighting themselves...

Here is Uncle Jonathan giving them a try.

And now, Kari's turn.
