California Dreamin'

And we finally made it. It was a long 4 days of driving with a nice pause in Utah at my sisters house. I can tell you I plan on taking a longer time on the way back (whenever that may be). My parents house is cute (I haven't ever seen it before) and I have already rearranged my mothers kitchen as well as kicked my little brother out of his bedroom. Ain't it grand :) Well, hopefully life will get a little bit more normal for a while, and we will just have to see what other things come up. I have access to a camera now, so I will post some more pictures soon! Thanks to all those concerned, and I will be keeping in touch.

He is alive

I heard from Justin this morning... He is in Cairo, Egypt and having internet connection issues, but he is alive, and learning all about Egyptian stuff. He said he got to touch the sphynx. :) I will pass on what I information I get and any pictures.

We are here, we are here, we are here!

I am not a Who down in Whoville, but I finally made it to Utah. It was a bit of a longer trip than I thought it was going to be. 10 to 12 hours in the car a day. We did take long stops for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but, that is still a long time to be no where. We stayed at a few hotels, and ate out for every meal. I'll tell you that I am not meant to be a nomad. And, talk about numb bumb! However, I am happy to report that Kari and Kaitlyn were wonderful little travelers. Kaitlyn slept quite a bit, and Kari played with her toys and watched movies. Grandma did pretty well too :) Justin got off and I hope he landed safely. I haven't heard from him yet. Kari has "talked" with him a few times on the phone already, and told him about her trip and her toys.

Here is a big thank you to everyone who helped with the move. My packers, cleaners and entertainment providers. Also, thanks to Brian for rescuing us at the last minute!

In other news, wasn't as impressed with Indiana Jones 4 as I wanted to be. Aliens... are you for real?!? And $4/gallon? Not cool!

95%

We are almost done. Most of everything is gone. We still have the nitty gritty left, and I have some major cleaning to do. Nothing like moving every piece of furniture you own to show you how inadequate you are as a house keeper. Anywho, maybe when I am sleeping on the air mattress tonight it will seem real. Hope this works!

Touching moment and walkers

So, the fishies went bye bye today. And spacey me, totally forgot when the girl was coming to pick them up. So, I was at walmart when she called and said, "um"... I ran home, and hastily dumped half the tank water, and helped her carry it out to her car and let Kari say a quick good bye. Cute little girl... As soon as the door shut on her "fish box" she started balling. She sobbed for a while. She had to go potty and she sobbed on the toilet. I had to bribe her with a cookie to make her feel better. It darn near breaks your heart :)

Then, Kaitlyn let go today and toddled all the way across the family room. She continued to take 20 or more steps across my bedroom, and then across her bedroom. Yay for her... Now it starts :)

In other news, I actually feel pretty well prepared for the move tomorrow. Wish us luck!!!

Another Graduation

So, here are some fun ones...

First just a cute picture of Kaitlyn smiling.

Then, we moved Kaitlyn up to the big car seat. She still faces backwards, but we only want to take one out to CA.

And, I cleaned out the car today, so I washed the carseats too. Here is fun in car seats, with Kari and Kaitlyn together.

And then Kari figured out that if she hit her head on the back of the seat she would fall over. She loved it and did it for a long time :)

We have a picture of a war wound. I am so sensitive :)

Kaitlyn tried to get out. It wasn't as easy as the little one...

I have been a busy girl

So, I thought I would be ok because I have been cleaning, going through, sorta packing for almost 2 weeks now. Well, Sunday we got down the boxes and I thought... Oh dear. If I filled all these boxes coming here, then I should fill them, if not more, leaving. So, I got a bit overwhelmed. And not to say that I don't have alot left, but I feel like I am making some real headway. If I can only be ready for the big move on Saturday. Wish me luck!!!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Shout out to all the mothers in the world! My mom and my mother in law are awesome and I love them! To all the prospective mothers, keep it up!!! We got a lot going on here these next few weeks. I am packing this whole week, and our stuff goes into storage this weekend. Then, I will be out of computer range for almost 2 weeks while I am down in the woods in Alabama, and then driving to CA for a few weeks. So, I will probably not be around for a while. I have lots to do and not a lot of time. I will do my best to catch up ASAP though. Have a happy summer and see you later!

Poor babies

Both my girls are sick... So sad. Kaitlyn has been running fevers of 100+ and Kari's nose is running like a faucet :( Just in time to pack and go on a trip. Sounds like fun, right?!?

SHE DID IT!!! SHE DID IT!!! Kaitlyn let go and took 4 steps today. She was holding onto Kari's highchair, and let go and took 4 steps before she fell down!!! Crazy how fast she is growing up!!!

My little MENACE

Kaitlyn has a few areas of the house that the loves to go and get into, even when she knows she isn't supposed to. Two of these are the table in the corner of the room dividing the couches... This houses the computer, and remotes, both of which she likes to eat. I have tried to solve this problem by putting a large pillow in front of because she can't walk over it, and she can't crawl and then pull up over the pillow. The other area is the bookshelf. I had put my bills and papers to be filed away here until recently, as well as some computer papers and my books for church. In order to keep her from getting into these, I put her car seat in front of it so she couldn't reach those things... Well, here is proof of how smart and calculating she is already :)

She half climbed into her car seat. Notice the foot in the seat, just so she could reach and pull everything down. What a smart, silly terror :) HELP ME!!!

And Kari wanted a picture taken this morning too, in her morning glory, with her cupcake pjs. Gotta love her :)

The Results are In!!!

Of the 9 whole people who voted, more than half of you think Laura and DannyBoy are having a BOY (55%). 33% voted for a girl, and one person voted for one or the other... Who voted for one or the other?!? Come on!!! Well, here's to Laura and Dan's first baby... May he be a boy :)
