For Christmas, I think, we got a fun new game. It is basically a kids version of BS. But, every time you are caught, your nose grows. This was the end of the first game.
After the second round, we piled all the noses on one pair of glasses.
And of course, everyone had to try them on!
It was a fun little game. And the kids really liked it.
So we'll have to add this into the rotation for a while.
Though I am pretty sure that encouraging your children to lie is a bad thing....
Martial arts is approximately three times a week. We could technically go five days a week, but I value my sanity too much for that. But that also means there is a decent amount of time spent in the observation rooms and sometimes in the car if we are too lazy to go inside.
Which also means that sometimes, if children forget their own form of entertainment, we have to get creative.
On this particular instance, I gave Kelsey my cell phone camera. While I got some wall pictures, I also got a few good selfies.
Or not selfies, but pictures of those she loves.
Even if they are unaware.
But mostly, there was no shortage of posing.
And who doesn't love a picture of a door?!?! I mean, that is memorable, right?
Nope. Not talking about that dress yet. Nothing white and lacy going on here. But colorful? And "spinny"? That we do. All the time..
I took these pictures because I can't believe that my baby is grown up enough to be wearing one of Kaitlyn's favorite dresses. It both makes me happy and makes me sad at the same time.
I mean, who can not love this goober? (Who also shares the same love of socks and shoes that her older sister did).
For reference, here is Kaitlyn, a few years ago, in the same dress.
My second born had a lisp when she was little. And she has been, and I suspect always will be, in love with beautiful shoes (pronounced thoos if you have a lisp). Earlier this year I felt like it was cool enough to wear my boots (they are kinda winter/fall thing for me, and it didn't get very cold this year). I took them off when I came home to do things around the house, and they disappeared.
I don't even remember what she was waiting for while looking out the door, but I liked the light from infront of her.
And she liked to walk around in the high heels (even if they are a bit too big for her still).
Because even slightly grown up girls like to play dress up.
Dylan and Kari have been doing martial arts since the fall. And they have really been loving it! We DID have to switch to a place that was closer to us, but it seems to be working out well. And (while I may think it is a bit of a racket), the kids really enjoy testing about every 2 months. They really feel like they are advancing and getting to show that off! Because of when we started, the kids were a little off the regular testing schedule. So, they tested them at the back of the class when it was their turn.
Then they awarded the belts, removed the old ones, and put on the new ones!
Again, the ceremony makes the kids feel special :)

They really love moving forward so quickly and going 3 times a week (even though it might kill me). Maybe, one day, there will be 3 black belt holders in the family (hubby already has his).
My dumb computer. The screen would do weird things. Like when the screen went white. For example:

Or when the lines on the computer would suddenly start moving.
It was very frustrating to try to use. So, we turned it in. And the first time it took a really long time to fix. Partly because it sat in the store for an extra week while we were in Disney. Mixed up paperwork. Then, once we got it back, after replacing the hard drive and the screen, the problem wasn't fixed. I started updating and downloading things only to find out that the problem was still there (as you can see above). So I took it back.
And they bought me a new one. The first time I bought one, without ever being able to put my hands on it. It was the "comparable" model online, but a different brand. They shipped it to me, which took almost a week, and when I got it, I hated it. The buttons on the keyboard were moved to weird places, and typing was horrible. So I took it back and bought one with a model on the floor, that I could at least play with before I brought it home. It has been about a week. And I think I like it.
So I have begun the slow process of loading everything back on it, and figuring out where everything is so I can use it again.
I don't understand my luck with computers. I don't understand why they break, because we don't use them for hard things, and we don't treat them unkindly. But... maybe my black thumb with plants also applies to computers. Who knows?!?!
But I am here! I am back. I have so much to tell you! From every day, little things, to a whopping huge trip with a million pictures to Disneyworld and Universal Studios. I'm excited to share some other personal things that haven't happened yet, but are in the works, so hold onto your hats ladies and gentleman!
Bad News: They still didn't fix the problem. They replaced the hard drive and the LCD screen, but couldn't "replicate" the problem. I had it home for a few hours, and the dang thing started doing it again!!! This time I took pictures and videos and will be turning it back in tomorrow or the day after. So, I'm not going to take the time to load everything up on it when heaven only knows what will be lost if they have to do something again. So....
Be patient. I have about a thousand pictures to share of our trips and lots of fun stories to pass on.
Mommy and Daddy married in '02. Kari is in 10th grade (how do I have a high schooler?!?), Kaitlyn is in 8th, Dylan is in 6th (what?!?). And my baby, Kelsey, is in 3rd grade. Where does the time go? Mommy went back to school when she finally had some time to herself. And she is *this* close to finishing her bachelors! One. More. Semester!!! Welcome to our "normal"!
