Christmas in Utah, Day 1 (Traveling)

Friday morning we woke up early ish and took the dogs over to the Hills.  Thankfully, we didn't have to get up too early.  We left their house and got to the airport around 10am.  The kids always find the shuttle ride part of the whole experience.
To make things easier for us, and worry less about exactly what time and where, we just planned on getting lunch once we were through the gate.  Yes, it is more expensive, but, it was certainly more convenient than trying to time everything just right.
And then we got on the plane.  Thankfully, pretty much no issues on the way out thankfully.  Kelsey, who has been on a flight before, got a little bit nervous before we left.  At 5 years old, she didn't remember exactly how everything went, so....  it made her a bit nervous.
Everyone else got their own screens on the way out, and could watch whatever movies they wanted.  Unfortunately, mine just looked like this, for the entire, 4.5 hour nonstop flight.  The good news is that flights are the one time I allow myself to buy the expensive gossip mags (at Walmart....  what do you think I am, made of money?!?!) to entertain myself.  The better news is that I didn't have homework to do, or tests to study for.  So, I certainly survived.
Once we arrived at the airport, we went to gather our luggage.  And then we went to get our rental.  We decided that since this trip would also include a mini vacation, we would rent a 15 passenger van.  The small problem we found once we arrived, was that to pick up the van, we had to get on yet another shuttle and go off the airport property.  It wasn't a big deal once we found it out....  it just wasn't well known at the time.  So, we picked up our huge van and then headed to the Websters.
Hubby needed a short nap once we got there, and remember that Kelsey was recovering from the flu.  So a nap was in order for her too.  We visited with the Websters and Pickle came as soon as she got off work.  Laura and Dan then went on a date, and Pickle helped us get the Webster kids in bed.  Our own kids were rather happy to go to sleep, as Utah is 2 hours behind.  So, 9 Utah time was 11 for us.
