For a combined birthday trip for both Amanda and Jade, our families took a weekend trip to Destin, FL. Hubby was already down there for work, and just met us at the rental car place, where he dropped off the car, and we picked him up. We, of course, took Sienna with us. And, thankfully, she was a pretty good passenger. She laid in the back, and chewed on her toys and all was right in the world.
Friday, after picking up hubby, we went straight to the hotel. We had let Jade do all the planning and had just tagged along. If we had been more involved, we might have had more details, but some of the trip ended up being a big of a surprise. For example, the hotel was a bit further from the beach than we expected.
After some waffling about the scheduling of the trip, we ended up going to the celebratory seafood dinner that night. Hubby isn't fond of schedule changes, but the food ended up being pretty good. We did not order the huge seafood platter, but the Hills did. And since, I don't like seafood, it doesn't even look all that great to me. But I do know that it was huge and expensive.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel for bed. And, because we took our dog along, we had to take many walks along the fence line.
That ends day 1 in Destin!
