Grand Canyon, Day 3 (Antelope Canyon Slot Tours)

The next morning we woke up to more snow.  And to an email that said our tours through the slot canyons would be a bit delayed.  They had to make sure it was safe for everyone to make it down, in and out of the canyon.  This was one of those things that required a guide, as it was on Indian territory as well.  We ate breakfast, and packed up and loaded the van.  We were leaving the rental that morning.  When we arrived at the tour place, we filled out waivers, and then piled into another van.  They drove us to a drop off point, where we would have to proceed on foot down into the mouth of the canyons.
Once again, the layers were interesting and cool!  And the snow make a nice background for everything.
They were only allowed to take small groups, as the areas could get somewhat small.
They did occasionally open up, providing spectacular views.
The guide was nice enough to take a family group picture of us.
At this point in the trip, Kaitlyn was being a goober.
And, at this point in the game, Kelsey was still happy.  However, as an almost 6 year old, that wasn't going to last forever....  she was a bit tired.
There were 3 different canyons that were accessed from the same drop off point.  So we walked between them to see everything we could see.
I don't know what natural forces can make smooth curves and rough edges, but it was quite fascinating.
I'm quite proud of this one!  It is straight out of the camera, and I think it is a great picture!!!

Seriously, how do you get such a smooth curve?!?
This is where Kelsey started to be tired.  I wanted a picture of the kids, but Kelsey refused to smile.  Pickle did what every aunt would do, and tried to coax a smile.
 As did Uncle Jonathan.
After we saw all three canyons, we had to go back up to the pick up point.  It didn't seem that bad going down, but going back up seemed to be pretty steep.  We came down to help Grandma and give her a boost, literally in the behind.
This is what the canyons look like from the top.  You might never know what was lying underneath just from looking at it.
From the canyons, it was off to another adventure.
