Christmas in Utah, Day 15 (Coming Home!!!)

If we were smarter, we all would have gone to bed early the night before travelling...  Unfortunately, we are not always that smart.  So, while we sent the kids to bed at a decent hour, we stayed up watching a dumb movie.  The following morning, we loaded the last of the things into the 15 passenger van and pulled out of the driveway at 5:30am!!!  We had to drop the van off (off campus) and still be back in time for the flight.  Usually there is a shuttle that will bring you back to the airport, but because it was so early, hubby got to experience his first Uber.  Thankfully, he dropped me and the kids, as well as all the luggage, off at the airport first.
Once hubby got back, we headed through security.  At that early in the morning, it wasn't a big deal at all.  Then, because we were hungry, and hadn't eaten before, we grabbed some expensive breakfast in the terminal.
And then it was off into the great blue yonder!  (Check out Kari's day 2 curls!!!  They are amazing!!!_
We landed around 2 pm in ATL.  And headed straight to baggage claim.  It took a while to gather all 18 bazillion bags.  And even longer to discover that one of our bags was missing!!!  There was a bag on the carousel that looked very much like mine, and we thought it was a simple mistake.  But no one answered the phone number listed, so we had to just hope and pray.  2 big things in the bag that I was super sad about.  Clothes and makeup can be replaced.  But, I'd packed my good camera in the bad so that I wouldn't have to carry it around and possibly loose it (like I had almost done before...  doah!).  And I wasn't really all that sad about the camera.  That too can be replaced.  But all the pictures cannot be.  The other thing that was super worrying, though I didn't remember at the time, was my engagement ring.  My hands tend to swell when travelling, so I packed it with the rest of my jewelry deep in the bag.  Again, its not about the monetary value, but that was hubby's grandmother's ring, so the sentimental value is irreplaceable.  We eventually left to go home, having to just hope that the person who took our bad would do the right thing and return it.
We headed straight over to the Hills house, because they had been watching the dogs for us.  It appears that Kelsey was super grateful to be back home with them.
They gracefully fed us dinner and we hung out for a while.  The kids went to bed at 8, and we only stayed until 10...  It was an "early" night for us all.

Saturday after the trip was rest and recovery.  We slept in and took naps.  The boys got hair cuts, and we unpacked and went to the grocery store.

Sunday we fasted to find my bag.  And it was the first time that church only lasted for 2 hours.  We had to get ready to return to real life of school and work the following day.  And....  guess what?!?!  They found my bag!!!  It was delivered at, like, 10:30 that night!  Hooray!  Fasting does work!
