First Day of School! (2018-2019)

Our family tradition is that Daddy takes everyone to school on the first day.  It started because I had several other younger siblings at home, and getting all of us presentable before 8am to walk an older sibling in would be pretty difficult.  It has continued because after several years, even though now there are no younger siblings at home, you can't break tradition!

This was Kelsey's first day of 1st grade!  We had met Dr. Hardy during the meet and greet, and knew she would be a great teacher for Kelsey.  I love her first day of school outfit!  She really was born to sparkle :)
Dylan was excited to start 4th grade.  This time, everything wasn't quite as new.  He had some friends that might be in his class, and he knew the lay out of the school.  His haircut and glasses are so handsome!
Kaitlyn was at the top of her game!  She was in the oldest class in the elementary school and had some friends moving up with her as well.  And her outfit is completely "Kaitlyn" too!  Little prissy, pink and pastel, and adorable on her.  She even straightened her hair the night before.
Kari was ready to go into 8th grade!  She was coming off the high from having a high GPA and enjoying band.  She also had a really good transition the year before, so this was no big thing for her!
At this point I would usually say something about stair steps.  Except....  it doesn't seem to fit very well.  Kari had been having a growth spurt.  Or multiple growth spurts, and Kaitlyn and Dylan had evened out about the same.
Daddy took all the kids to school, dropping Kari off (because she is a grown up and no longer needs anyone to walk her to class) and walking in with the other 3.  The rest of the day was fairly laid back for me. With plenty of cuddling!

I took both dogs to the vet for shots and check ups.  And then, because the younger kids hadn't ridden the bus TO school yet, they couldn't ride it home.  So I spent about an hour in the pick up line....  That stuff is crazy yo!

I also spent most of my time at home watching puppies, making sure they didn't have accidents and watching them play.

As I said before, sometimes it is scary to watch them going at it with the size difference....  But Sienna is surprisingly gentle with her.

And Pixie often starts it....  telling me she likes playing with Sienna!

They really are just like siblings...  They annoy the snot out of each other!

Thursday was wash and repeat, except that I went out to lunch with hubby.  I spent both Thursday and Friday catching up on some reading.  And perhaps watching puppies.
Pixie has always been the chewer of the two.  Sienna used to chew a bit when she was a puppy, but doesn't do it hardly anymore at all now.
Sienna has always been a bit of the big sister though.  She will take a toy away from Pixie and go outside.  She won't play with it.  She will just leave it there and come back inside.  Pixie, being the little thing she is, can't open the dog door and go get it.  Sienna, is a punk sometimes.
That weekend, we headed down to Pa's house for the family reunion.  We were supposed to go down on Friday night, but hubby's head hurt, so we waited until Saturday morning.  We took the dogs, of course.  We didn't take them to the actual reunion, but we let them run and explore.  And a general fuss was made over the both of them.
We spent Saturday night, and came home Sunday after lunch.  Then we headed over to the Hills for dinner.
