The first full week of June we had a dentist appt on Monday for Dyl and Kari. On Tuesday, we went to a Beta Convention meeting. Since some of the kids won in their state division, they qualified to go to nationals. Kaitlyn included. However, that is where we found out that the teacher who was in charge of arranging everything suddenly and mysterious left. He was hired on at a different school, and instead of keeping his prior commitments, he decided to drop the ball and stop answering his phone. Some of the parents banded together to make it happen for their child, but some of Kaitlyn's team members couldn't make that happen. So there really wasn't a point for us to make the effort. However, because of that, some other options opened for us, so... I guess we were ok with it. Wednesday we had a playdate with the Ashcrafts. Thursday hubby only worked half a day so that he could go to a funeral from work. Before he came home, I went out with Amanda and Diana for lunch and shopping (for my birthday). Once he got home we worked on fixing/demoing the fence. We had some big plans for the yard, and needed to get some of the prep work started. Friday, hubby took the whole day off work so we could finish the fence and pack. Need I remind you, that June in Alabama is freaking hot! So it was hard and sweaty work to be outside. After finishing the fence, we packed and left the house. We stopped through Auburn on the way to pick up the kids new glasses, and then continued on our way to VIRGINIA! Once we knew that Kaitlyn wasn't going to nationals, it opened up the ability to go to Virginia to see cousin Taylor graduate high school! It was a semi last minute trip, but fun all the same. We drove overnight on Friday and arrived around 5am the following morning. Those drives are always less than pleasant for hubby and I, but better for the kids, who think the trip was magically short. We were allowed to sleep for a while while the kids played. Then we got up and showered and felt like whole new people! At dinner time, we had the whole group over to celebrate being together again and also to celebrate my birthday.

1st Week of June 2018
Hubby was super sweet and snuck out to buy me an icecream birthday cake!
After that, it was a relatively laid back evening. Pop spent the majority of his time with a lap full of dogs.
And the rest of us hung out.
On Sunday morning, I woke up in enough time to get the kids and I ready to attend sacrament meeting at my old ward growing up. I was able to see a few friends and chat for a bit (Sis Dudley and Sis Robertson). And that afternoon, Taylor came over to visit with us again.
The kids loved seeing him, and wouldn't leave him alone. They were all over him the whole time!
I suppose that is ok :) Its a good thing we love our family!
