I probably need to set up some background for that punch line. See, we spent 4 hours, yes, count them, 4 hours, at the WIC office yesterday. I know they say no food or drink, but I brought both for the girls (luckily) and thankfully, am nursing Dylan. So I was the only one suffering after having a light lunch. Anyway, we left our appointment at 1 and we got home at 4:55... The girls played a bit while I nursed Dylan again and then tried to work up something for dinner. Kari was taking forever to eat, even though dinner was her request. So, since last night was shower night, and Kaitlyn was done, I figured I would shower them apart. Maybe even put Kaitlyn down for bed early, since we missed her nap entirely. She didn't want to play in the shower for near as long by herself, so she was clean and jammied before Kari was done with dinner. When Kari finally finished, I stripped her and stuck her in the shower. I let her soak while I came back in to clean up the kitchen. Next thing I hear is " Hey... You aren't supposed to be in here!" And then Kaitlyn got in the shower with her clothes on....
In other news, today was my 6 week postpartum checkup, and I got a clean bill of health and permission to return to regular duty. Not that I hadn't been doing that already, but I guess it is official now. My wonderful friend Melissa watched all 3 of my children (since I can't bring any into the drs office). I brought pizza back and she didn't even kick me out when I am sure she was ready to have her house back. Thanks Melissa!
On a side note, due to lack of naps yesterday, playing so incredibly hard with Ashlee, and me staying and chatting way to long, when we got back to our house, it was waaaaay past nap time. I am not sure it is a good thing when I have all 3 children whining/crying/screaming at me, and I just laugh it off as overtiredness... Maybe I need a nap too ;)

I feel the need to update with just a little blurb. I am guessing it is dairy products that Dylan doesn't like. Thanks to facebook, and several wonderful mommy experiences, I have cut out the several large glasses of milk I was drinking a day. I haven't cut it out of recipes where it is a small amount (such as a 1/4 c for a whole box of mac & cheese), but I think it is making a significant difference. However, not being so fond of juice right now leaves me with... water. And although water isn't that bad when it is nice and cold, it doesn't go with everything. For example, milk + chocolate = good... chocolate + water = not so good... So, I guess it will cut down on my sweets intake too. Not such a bad thing, I suppose.

So, I think Dylan is sensitive to something I am eating, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it is. Anyway, this morning he was crying at me, and Kari came in and said, "Are you having problems with him?" I dunno why, but it struck me as pretty funny....

The Banger Sisters :)
Ok, well, how about the sisters with bangs. I have been cutting Kari's for a while now, and I hadn't quite decided if I was going to give them to Kaitlyn. But, today her hair in her face bugged me, so I bit the bullet and took the plunge. So, although you have probably seen Kari with bangs before, this is Kaitlyn's debut.

In the real world baby...
So, today was my first day with all three kids, by myself. Up until this point, I have had a helper (in the form of family or friends or husband) to help out with the lifting, child watching, holding etc. I will say that it wasn't as shocking as it could have been, and generally it was a successful day. Hey, we are all still alive, right? Getting up with the girls at 7:30 was not fun (up until this point my helpers have been wonderful about getting up early with the girls and letting me sleep in as late as Dylan would allow). It was kinda nice to be able to lift Kaitlyn again (I wasn't supposed to do alot of heavy lifting for the first 6 weeks. Although, come to that, Dylan isn't exactly light). Anywho, I do miss the maids, cooks, bathers, holders, etc. We had pizza for dinner, but I did "make" hot dogs for lunch :) And, I thought we could try going out. We went to Target for about 30 minutes. It was fun getting all 3 in and all 3 out of the car. And, I think the last week of staying up way too late was kinda getting to us all because the girls were kinda pushy and whiney, and my patience was running short. Again, it made me realize how nice it was to have helpers here who would watch a portion of the children while I had to do whatever I had to do. I do NOT look forward to going to the grocery store for the big haul with all 3... The space alone needed is mind boggling :) Makes me realize why Heavenly Father thinks having kids is a two person job (mommy + daddy). Again, thanks to all my helpers!!! You guys are fabulous!
The Many Faces of Dylan Michael
I see alot more of this face than I would like to, but, I still think it is kinda cute.
Profile picture
Check out that flirty smile... He is practicing already, and I am in trouble.
Model look.
Typical newborn face :)
We had a little photo shoot last night with Dylan. He was awake and pretty cooperative (for a month old). And, or course, gotta get a couple with the girls in there too.

Tummy Time for the Little One
I love Kaitlyn's narration :) She wanted to come over and see Dylan through the view finder, and then she got up to see him, hence when she kicked the camera. She pats him on the back, just like mommy does... however, we probably need to work on the whole "gentle" thing.
And this is the result of tummy time. After keeping me {and everyone else in the house} up last night (he woke up every 2.5 hours... really... you could almost set your clock by it) and requiring to be rocked/bounced/vibrated/halfway fed/etc to sleep, he fell asleep on the floor. By himself. Without even the pacifier (the first time). Why can't you do that at night, kid?!?!

It seems like only yesterday
I was sitting on the couch, all big and fat, holding one girl on one side, and another on the other.... Oh wait, it was ;)
My how the time flies. Little Dylan has had his one month check up and man is my little man growing.
Today, he weighed in at 11 lbs 14 oz... That is in the 90th percentile for his weight. And he is 22.25 inches long. That is in the 75th percentile for his height. Talk about a big kid :) He is gaining weight twice as fast as his two sisters, and I nursed all three with the same set of "equipment" :) Who can tell what the difference is.
Just as an interesting point of reference, remember:
Birth day: 8 lbs 3 oz (2 weeks early) and 20.5 in long
Leaving hospital day (March 19): 7 lbs 14 oz
4 weeks (took him in for what I thought was an ear infection... turned out to be probably a tummy ache): 11 lbs 6 oz
1 month check up (5 days later): 11 lbs 14 oz...
4 lbs in 4 weeks.
More than half a pound from Monday to Friday...
What can I say, he is a big kid ;)
Back at Pa's
We went back to Pa's with Nana and spent the week. We also spent the week with Kari's "cousmims" {side note: alas... to my extreme sadness, Kari's cousin Ashley corrected her, and she now says cousin}. So, here are a very few pictures of the past week.
Kari and cousin Ashley holding Dylan.
Notice how happy he looks :)
I love that Kaitlyn is still small enough to fit in the sink for a bath. Talk about multi tasking. Bathing the kid and making dinner. Gotta love it!
