2nd Week of September, 2020

This week began with Labor Day!  Hubby had Monday off from work, and the kids and I had the day off from school.  We spent some time outside working on the backstop hubby designed so that he could shoot his bow in the backyard.  It is made of 2x4 and a horse mat to keep the arrows from going too far.

Most of the rest of the week seems "regular".  XC and band practice every day after school.  Hubby went out of town for Wednesday night.  I had my Student Teaching seminar on Thursday, and my Teaching Exceptional Learners class on Tuesday.

Friday was another home game for Kari.  This time, I didn't go watch.

Saturday Kari was able to help out at a 9/11 JROTC event.  It was a 5K, and she helped to direct the runners as they moved through the track.  She was dressed in her uniform, which proved problematic as the boots are hand-me-downs, and didn't fit her well enough to do the massive amount of walking she did.  She had horrible, painful blisters!

The offending boots.

And the blisters, 4 days later!  They look so awful!
Saturday was also a XC meet for Kaitlyn.  She wasn't as pleased with her performance this time as she was last time, but I am proud of her for working so hard, and running so much.  Seriously, running that long and that often sounds like torture to me!
That afternoon, because she was a bit frustrated with herself, she was kinda cuddly, which doesn't bother a mom's heart.

We also had the AT&T guy come out to see if he could fix our internet.  We were paying for up to 1000 mb and were getting less than 100!!  He replaced some lines, and changed some settings, but, in the end, it really didn't seem to do much.  Uncle Jonathan, who is an IT guru, has tried to help us a few times.  It seems that it is mostly our devices that are the problem.  One of the settings the tech changed was the name of our WiFi, and I am pretty pleased with our creativity.  I would say it was all mine, but I can't.  I googled it.

Sunday was our first day back at church!!  Yay!  It was heavily masked, and spread apart, and several people still didn't feel comfortable coming back.  But it was nice to be there again.  And, after church naps are the best!
Even the dogs join in!
That afternoon, hubby went back out to the farm to ride Sixteen and to show Kari around.  At that point, she was the only one who hadn't been out with him.
And Donnie and Catherine sent us a few pictures of the work they had been doing down at Pa's house.
The house needed some repairs, and it was time to replace the carpet.  So, after working on the subfloors, they ran hard wood flooring throughout the house!
They also installed a door to the middle bedroom.  Previously, the only way to the bedroom was if you walked through the one of the other 2.  This way, you could access the room on it's own!  It is much more convenient! (This picture is from our visit a few weeks later).
