COVID Renovations: Kaitlyn's Room

When Kaitlyn came home from The Ashcrafts, she announced that she thought it was really cool that Lauren had her desk underneath her bed. Well, something like that is simple enough!  Hubby was all over it!  Technically, her bed was part of a bunk bed set.  And, Kelsey had broken her part of the bed within a few weeks of moving in.  So, if we stole Kelsey's portion, ignoring the part that she broke, we were almost tall enough to fit the desk that we had bought Kaitlyn previously to fit underneath it.  Hubby, being the genius that he is, was able to figure out a way to make everything work.  And...  that is how this whole thing started.  The only real thing we would have to do was re-make the ladder.  Originally, it attached to the bottom rail and didn't go all the way to the floor.  Now, there would be no bottom rail, not to mention that the bed was going to be raised an additional 8 inches.  Thankfully, hubby is pretty handy, and was able to reuse most parts of the ladder, incorporating some scrap from the shop, and voila!

Then, we just had to put the bunk bed together, and add the additional 8 inch risers to make it tall enough to fit the desk underneath!
And, what teenage girls room is complete without fairy lights?

Move the desk, add a ladder and Voila!!  Also, it is a bit difficult to see, but we took another of the 3 shelves from Kelsey's floor and mounted it on the wall beside Kaitlyn's bed.  She keeps her alarm clock, a book and a bottle of water up there.

It is the kind of bedroom that any teenage girl would want!
A few days later, her bookshelf came in.  She has so much stuff, that she needed a little bit more space to display it.  And, since the desk had been moved, she had the space.  It was a group effort to put it together.

And I am sure that you can imagine that since this picture it is full of lovely stuff!
