Just a little sumpin to take you into the weekend.

Flower Photo Dump :)

For Mother's Day, hubby was nice enough to send me flowers.  The stinker sent them a few days before, so I would be totally surprised (not that I expect flowers, mind you).
And what did I do?  Well, I played a bit with my camera, of course!
One of my favs...  Little, daisy like flower...
Then I went outside and took a picture of the first flower in my mailbox planter.  My mom was nice enough to plant these for me when she was here last year, and I was really excited when they came back up this year.
So happy, and pink, and sweet!
Just like my mom.  :)
Happy Late Mothers day to her (and my MIL)!

Championship Game

The Bronco's had good season this year.  Kari really enjoyed her first ever try at soccer.  They lost a few, but won a few more and ended up making it into the tournament.
Which was double elimination.  I am sure there are times and places where things like that make sense, but in my (super) humble opinion, it seemed a bit like overkill for this age bracket.
Especially considering the kids ended up playing 4 games in less than 48 hours.
Kari was a good sport, playing as hard as she could, until she couldn't go no mo'.
This was half time.  I love this picture :)  It is Kari and her daddy (who got tapped to be an assistant coach the week before after shouting {apparently helpful} things from the sidelines) conferring. (Breathe!  Like that run on sentence, didja?)
She was hot.  She was tired.  But a little pep talk from coach and she went right back in.
Kaitlyn was also tired (and bored) and hot.  Thankfully a little umbrella to keep away the sun and a fancy schmancy cell phone helped to alleviate her boredom.
It was a close game.  It was an exciting game.  In the end, however, they didn't win.  Strangely, they lost to the team they had beat the day before to get into the championship game.
I guess that is how double elimination works sometimes....

Go Broncos!

Daddy's Little Helper

The saying is "A mommy's job is never done", but what about a daddy?  He is pretty busy too!  Sometimes he may need a little bit of help.

Like an answering service.
 Or a door greeter.
Or just another set of eyes when red lining some plans.
"Daddy, I am about to show you something important."
"It's right here."
It is a good thing he has her.  It is so hard to find good help these days!

(PS- Nana, that is Kelsey's Easter dress.  Still not a good close up, but you get the idea :)

Not the Baby!

So many of the posts these days are about the baby.  Which is fine, being that she IS so cute and all.  Today is dedicated to the other kids in my life :)

Specifically Kari, who lost her 8th tooth.
And Dylan, who goes for a systematic approach to playing battleship.
And Kaitlyn, who wanted to give hubby and me a surprise.  (Streamers hung everywhere she could reach)
And then a collection of colored paper lines.  She also had these systematically hidden in other parts of the room, where it was our job to find them.
When questioned, she didn't know how many she hid.  She apparently didn't care.  It was more important she do something for Mom and Dad, than it was that we actually found everything she hid.

Love these kids :)

End of an Era

A long time ago, in a far away place, we had a car.  Before hubby went into the military, we wanted to change that.  So based on the fact that hubby had a military contract (though hadn't yet actually gone INTO the military), some bank was dumb enough to give us a car loan.  We scouted around, and it was actually my suggestion that we get a truck.  I thought they were cool.  We bought one that was 3 years old at the time, specifically getting one that had 4 doors (knowing we wanted to start a family).  10 years later, it is finally time to upgrade.  Because I was concerned that it might take a while, I made hubby wash, wax and vacuum the truck so we could put it on Craigslist immediately.  Amazingly (to me), it sold fairly quickly.  As in, the first week.
The problem with that being that our new truck is not yet available.  We decided to purchase a brand new one (something we have never done before) based on 2 things: 1- We plan on having it for at least the next 10 years and 2- We had a fairly specific set of things we wanted that are apparently impossible to come by when you put them all together (specifically a Rambox, a bench seat (to seat all 6 of us), and a 6'4" bed).  So, hubby ordered it, able to customize everything to his exact specifications.
Now we play the waiting game until the new one is available.  Thankfully, his boss is a very nice person and offered him the company beater (a '95) until the next one comes in.  Yay for moving up!

Rain

I have always thought those close up pictures of rain and water were pretty cool.
And I know that I won't be able to take cool pictures like that over night.
But it rained a few days ago during the day, and I was already outside doing some other stuff, so...
 I tried a few.
My old camera could NOT do this...
 Love the ripples :)
Little foamy puddle.  Love the crispness of the grass too!
But this is probably my favorite.  I like all the tiny water droplets going in all different directions.
Rain, rain, go away....

Little Piggy

I took this video because she was making cute little snorting (piggy) sounds every time she took an imaginary bite.  But I ended up loving it because she cuddles with me.  And I can't help but kiss her soft little cheek whenever it is by me!

Pretty much the same thing, just from a different angle.  Listen for the noise :)

I love my little piggy!

Schools OUT for Summer!

This is Kaitlyn's kindergarten graduation picture.  Ain't it cute?!?!
My kids are already out for the summer.  Have been for almost 2 weeks now...  They ended the school year with ceremonies, 2 in one day, though several hours apart.

With a last name like ours, she is bound to be in the back...
Kaitlyn graduated from kindergarten.  Her principal was there to congratulate her on her hard work.
And her teacher was there to hand out the diplomas.  Kaitlyn went straight in for the hug.
We pretty much love her teacher (who is the same teacher Kari had).
Then we went back to her room to get a little bag her teacher had prepared for all the kids.  And no, I don't know what Kelsey is putting in her mouth, though I think it is her pacifier.
 Doesn't she look so happy!
Fast forward a few hours and it was Kari's turn!
She got an award for being on the Principal's Honor Roll, which is 94 As and above.
 Way to go Kari!!!
We liked her teacher quite a bit too :)
Round these here parts, the last 2 days of school don't count as far as absences are concerned, so most kids don't go.  Both my girls wanted to get the most out of the experience, and went until the last possible second.  Kaitlyn said there were 4 in her class and Kari said there were only 3.  This was the kids going to school on the last day of 2nd grade and kindergarten.
At least we got a little bit of Kelsey's foot in there too...

Now, what to do with 4 kids for the summer....  Hm.....

Taste the Rainbow

For an FHE treat the other day I made these Jello Rainbow cups.
I had actually intended to do it closer to St. Patrick's Day, but I never got around to it.
It really took very little time other than being around to add another layer every so often.
And it was kind of fun to taste all the different colors/flavors.
Dylan didn't finish all of his, and was nice enough to share it with Kelsey the following day.
They have a special bond, these two.
It usually involves sharing food :)
